Christodoulos Sozos (1872–1912), a Greek Cypriot politician and lawyer, is photographed here with his seven sisters in a formal studio setting. Sozos served as a member of the Cypriot Legislative Council (1901–1911), Mayor of Limassol (1908–1912), and Limassol–Paphos MP (1908–1912). On 7 November 1912, he voluntarily enlisted in the Greek Army as a private during the First Balkan War and was killed in action on 6 December 1912. Christodoulos Sozos, seated in the center, is dressed in a formal black suit, paired with a crisp white shirt and bow tie. His seven sisters, are pictured standing and seated around him. These dresses feature: High necklines with intricate lace detailing, indicative of the modesty and sophistication of women's fashion in the early 1900s. Long sleeves, some with puffed shoulders. Waist-cinching designs, emphasizing femininity. Many of the sisters wear ornate accessories, including brooches, necklaces, and lace collars, adding a refined touch to their attire. Their hair is neatly styled in voluminous updos or buns, which were fashionable during this period.
