Description:
Yelekkin (waistcoat, turk. yelek) made of black striped felt at the front and black velvet at the back. In the middle of the back is a vertical slit, which is fastened by a blue ribbon. Above the slit there is a rectangular decoration made of orange and green thread. The front consists of two pieces of felt of the same size that are crossed, leaving a V-shaped opening at the neck. On the right side there is a square embroidered decoration made of orange and green threads and the year 1918, also embroidered. On the right side there is a vase-shaped pocket made of black velvet embroidered with orange and green threads. The yelekkin is cross-buttoned, with obliquely set buttons that are secured on the inside by loops attached to a black woollen braid. Both the buttons and the button-holes are made of black braid and seiritia (cords, ribbons turk. şirit/şerit), and are attached to the two front panels, thus making it possible to cross the yelekkin on either side. At the bottom there are zig-zag embroidered patterns of orange and green threads.
