Description:
Yelekkin (waistcoat, turk. yelek) made of blue velvet with intertwined leaves and flowers at the front, and black velvet at the back. In the middle of the back is a vertical slit, which is fastened by a green ribbon. The front consists of two pieces of mauve velvet of the same size that are crossed, leaving a semi-circular opening at the neck. The yelekkin is cross-buttoned, with obliquely set buttons that are secured on the inside by loops attached to a black woollen braid. Both the buttons and the button-holes are made of black braid and seiritia (cords, ribbons turk. şirit/şerit), and are attached to the two front panels, thus making it possible to cross the yelekkin on either side. On the right, there is a vase-shaped pocket made of black velvet.
