Description:
Yelekkin (waistcoat, turk. yelek) made of black velvet at the front and at the back, with a vertical opening at the front. The back and sides are made of single piece of black velvet. The vertical slit in the back is cross-fastened by a ribbon of green and yellow colour. Above it, there is a lozenge-shaped embroidery with two spirals. The front consists of two equal pieces of black velvet. At the bottom are button holes trimmed with gaitania (braids), to which are attached loops made of gaitania and buttons braided of threads and ending in tassels. There is a semi-circular opening at the neck, around the inside of which is a striped seiriti (cords, ribbons turk. şirit/şerit). On the right side is a vase-shaped pocket made of black velvet and above it an embroidered bird of green and orange colour. All the front part of the yelekkin is decorated with braids, seiritia (cords, ribbons turk. şirit/şerit) and yellow and brown threads. The yelekkin is fully lined with white cotton.
