Description:
Yelekkin (waistcoat, turk. yelek) made of dark blue and white cotton fabric called alatzia (turk. alaca) at the front. At the back, the upper half is from the same material, while the lower part is made of white cotton fabric. In the middle of the back is a vertical slit, which is fastened by a black ribbon. The front consists of two pieces of cotton fabric of the same size, which are crossed, leaving a semi-circular opening at the neck. On the right side there is a vase-shaped pocket made of the same fabric. The yelekkin is cross-buttoned, with obliquely set plastic blue buttons that are secured on the inside by loops attached to a black braid. The buttons and the button-holes are attached to both front panels, thus making it possible to cross the yelekkin on either side. All around the openings there is black braid. The inside is reinforced by white cotton material.
