Yelekkin (waistcoat, turk. yelek) is made of dark-mauve velvet at the front and black at the back, with a vertical opening at the front. The back and sides are made of a single piece of black velvet. The vertical slit in the middle of the back is cross-fastened by a green ribbon. Above it, there is a rectangular motif with two embroidered spirals. The front consists of two equal pieces of dark-mauve velvet. At the bottom, there are button holes trimmed with gaitania (braids), to which are attached loops made of gaitania and buttons made of twisted silk braid and ending with tassels. There is a semi-circular opening at the neck, around the inside of which is a striped seiriti (cords, ribbons turk. şirit/şerit). On the right side is a vase-shaped pocket made of green and blue woollen fabric and above it is an embroidered blue and orange bird. The whole front part of the yelekkin is decorated with braids, seiritia and threads which create a variety of decorative motifs scrolls, spirals, lozenges and wickerwork embroidery. The yelekkin is fully lined with white cotton material, and the opening at the front is lined with black velvet. On the inside of it there is an unreadable blue stamp.

The yelekkin is fully lined with white cotton material. On the inside, there are two stamps writing: ‘‘Paragogos (Producer) – Georgios Filis – Lefkosia (Nicosia) – Kypros (Cyprus)’’ and ‘‘Orfanos & Zivanaris LTD’’.
