The costume consists of a white chemise (ypokamison), a yelekkin (waistcoat, turk. yelek) over it, black pleated breeches (vraka), a sash (zostra) around the waist, a headscarf and black leather boots (podines).

The chemise is made of white cotton material and has an upright collar and long sleeves. The front part consists of a single piece of material with an opening down to the waist, which is fastened with buttons. The back consists of two pieces sewn together, gathered slightly where they join the shoulder. It is decorated with vertical pleats at the back. The sleeves are sewn vertically to the body and have cuffs fastened by two buttons. On the left side of the front part there is a pocket. The broad, heavily pleated vraka is made of black cotton material. Around the waist there is a blue sash. Above the chemise is worn a yelekkin (waistcoat, turk. yelek) made of black striped woollen fabric at the front and black velvet at the back. The back and sides are made of a single piece of black velvet. The vertical slit in the back is cross-fastened with a black ribbon. The front consists of two equal pieces of black woollen fabric. The button holes are trimmed with gaitania (braids), to which are attached loops and buttons. There is a semi-circular opening at the neck. On the right side there is a vase-shaped pocket decorated with orange, green and blue threads, which are used to create a variety of decorative motifs. The yelekkin is fully lined with white cotton material. On the inside there is a stamp witting: ‘‘Orfanos & Zivanaris LTD’’. The headscarf is made of fine cotton material (kouroukla), dyed with deep red colour. It is decorated with a row of floral motifs all around the edges and with a bouquet of flowers in each of the four corners. The outlines of the pattern are printed in black colour (karakalemi), and the flowers and leaves in red (tekkirin) and yellow colour. The scarf is decorated all around the edges with green and white handmade lace. The costume is completed with black leather boots of European style.

Ypokamison (shirt) made of cotton fabric with grey and white stripes. The shirt has long-sleeves with cuffs, and pleats at the back. The vertical front opening closes with five buttons. The collar has triangular ends. On the left side there is a horseshoe-shaped pocket.

Zostra, wide sash, made of silk striped fabric, with fringes at the narrow ends. The stripes of the fabric are yellow with green flowers. The fabric is imported. The sash was worn around the waist on top of the vraka (baggy trousers).

Zostra (sash, ttalapoulouzin originated from Tripoli, turk. tarab­lus/trablus kuşak), wide sash, made of silk fabric, with fringes at the narrow ends. The fabric has stripes in various colours, mauve, beige, blue, green and yellow. The sash was worn around the waist on top of the vraka (baggy trousers).

Yelekkin (waistcoat, turk. yelek) made of striped black synthetic fabric at the front and black satin at the back. The front consists of two pieces of the same size, which are closed vertically with four buttons. There is a semi-circular opening at the neck and a double pointed collar. On both sides, there is a pocket opening.

Yelekkin (waistcoat, turk. yelek) made of mauve velvet with leaves and flowers in relief at the front, and black velvet at the back. The front consists of two pieces of mauve velvet of the same size, which are crossed, leaving a semi-circular opening at the neck. The yelekkin is cross-buttoned, with obliquely set buttons that are secured on the inside by loops attached to a black woollen braid. Both the buttons and the button-holes are made of black braid and seiritia (cords, ribbons turk. şirit/şerit), and are attached to the two front panels, thus making it possible to cross the yelekkin on either side. On the right, there is a vase-shaped pocket made of black velvet.

Yelekkin (waistcoat, turk. yelek) is made of blue silk fabric at the front and at the back. The front consists of two pieces of silk of the same size that are crossed, leaving a triangular opening at the neck. On the right side, there is a vertical opening for the pocket, which is decorated with seiritia (cords, ribbons turk. şirit/şerit) of black and gold thread. The two front panels make it possible to cross the yelekkin on either side. All the openings are decorated with seiritia of black and gold thread. The inside is lined with white cotton material. On the inside there is a stamp witting: ‘‘Paragogos (Producer) – Georgios Filis – Lefkosia (Nicosia) – Kypros (Cyprus)’’.

Yelekkin (waistcoat, turk. yelek) made of mauve velvet at the front, and red felt at the back, with a vertical opening at the front. The back and sides are made of a single piece of red felt. The vertical slit in the back is cross-fastened by a ribbon of black and red colour. Above it, there is an embroidered lozenge-shaped pattern with two spirals. The front consists of two equal pieces of mauve velvet. At the bottom are button holes trimmed with gaitania (braids), to which are attached loops made of gaitania and buttons braided of threads and ending in tassels. There is a semi-circular opening at the neck, around the inside of which is a striped seiriti (cords, ribbons turk. şirit/şerit). On the right side is a vase-shaped pocket made of black velvet decorated with gold and orange seiriti and above it an embroidered bird of green and orange colour. All the front part of the yelekkin is decorated with braids, seiritia and yellow and brown threads. The yelekkin is fully lined with white cotton.

The yelekkin is cross-buttoned, with obliquely set buttons that are secured on the inside by loops attached to a black woollen braid. Both the buttons and the button-holes are made of black braid and seiritia (cords, ribbons turk. şirit/şerit), and are attached to the two front panels, thus making it possible to cross the Yelekkin on either side. Twisted braids, gaitania (braids) and seiritia form a variety of patterns. The inside is reinforced with white cotton.
